If you have eaten Indian food in downeast Maine, chances are that Gunjan cooked it for you. She has been running Tandoor
Downeast since May 2005, which provides the only authentic Indian food in downeast Maine. Gunjan has customers from Bangor
to Lubec to Houlton to Portland. She cooks around the clock in the summer time for farmers markets, parties (chef services),
art foundations, and her favorite retail customer in Bar Harbor.
In addition to her summertime cooking, she also teaches the spring and fall Indian cooking course for Sumner Adult Education.
Gunjan has appeared in Bangor Daily News, Working Waterfront, Ellsworth American, and Downeast Magazine. When she is not cooking,
she is thinking about cooking!
Christian is Gunjan's husband, and you will likely see him at the Ellsworth Farmers Market. Although he is not an Indian,
he is a very good dish washer and vegetable chopper. He enjoys hiking, sailing, motorcycling, and having coffee with George
on Saturdays at the Ellsworth Farmers Market.
Together, Christian and Gunjan also manage their own vegetable garden, which is key to making our Indian food fresh and
full of flavor.
